Yesterday, we discussed Jack Burkman, a D.C. lobbyist who, apparently motivated by Michael Sam’s coming out, began working on legislation to ban gay players from NFL. Burkman said of the bill, “Imagine your son being forced to shower with a gay man. That’s a horrifying prospect for every mom in the country. What in the world has this nation come to?”

Today Michael Sam responded:

He, like all homophobes, is just scared he'd get turned on if he was propositioned by a naked gay man.

The only thing bogus here is the gay lifestyle.  He will either contract the disease or decide he isnt gay any more at some point.  Look at the other hero,  Jason Collins.  Left his FEMALE fiance an decides hes gay now.  Go ahead and be gay all you want, sorry, not everyone will agree with it.  Anyone who sleeps with the same sex is obviously suffering from some type of mental impairment

The tragedy is the ignorant bigotry of a supposedly intelligent man wanting to 'ban' gay people from anything. Gays are fully integrated into our society at every level. Not to realize that only compounds his ignorance. And guess what? It has made NO difference. The world goes on as it always has. You might as well protest against  overweight people, or left-handed people, or people who wear white socks. It's a done deal. Live with it.

If I were Sam I would be more worried about my sub par combine workouts than a lobbyist in D.C.

Oh,please does this man and those that pay him really have an ounce of any sense in their bodies? I know we are allowed free speech, but these anti - gay ppl are just STUPID.  And,the sad thing is,their children are the ones who suffer. It must be sad when their children can't be honest to them, since most of these ppl would kill them for being gay.

@ChadCollins9 How dare you disagree with the "agenda"?  It's going to get shoved down everyone's throats whether they like it or not.  Of course you realize we are going to get this thread shut down too.

@tarheel2 He will win an award next year anyway.  It will be defensive player of the year or man of the year.  The NFL will see to it that he does

@eddie767  If most of them would kill their kids for being gay, why haven't we seen it all that often?  I mean most of them means at least 50% right?  Looking at the population of the United States, we certainly should be having a few of those "I need to kill my gay son" murders a week, right?  Or are you just trying to demonize the other side?  I am for Sam being in the NFL and his acceptance in the locker room.  I have gay relatives that our family openly accepts and loves.  I DON'T care for the equal amount of hate from the gay side of the issue that tries to paint all people who do not approve of homosexual behavior as evil.  You think describing them all as the devil helps???  That is about the dumbest way to bring people together on the issue.

@donald5 @eddie767 Very astute point.  From what I have seen and read the last few weeks, there is at least an equal amount of venom flowing from the pro-gay side.  Apparently everyone who doesn't subscribe to their line of thinking must be the devil incarnate.
