Speed Skater Disqualified for Flipping the Double Bird at Opponent

Short track speed skating just surpassed ice hockey as the most anticipated event at the Winter Olympics, as the Netherlands’ Sjinkie Knegt flipped off rival Viktor Ahn, after Ahn won their final major race until they meet again in Sochi. Knegt was disqualified, though I’m sure he felt it was worth it.

And while it looks like Ahn is returning the favor, I’ve examined the evidence and have concluded those are his index fingers.

The fact Sports Illustrated calls this 'the most hilarious speed skating photo ever' is another example of the slipping of standards that has led SI to continue to fall into irrelevancy. Still a subscriber for now, but it's sad how a once-great publication has lowered itself so much to pandering to 15-year old kids looking for a cheap laugh, all because it doesn't have confidence in its own ability to deliver a good product.

Speed skating is rapidly approaching the gay level of soccer!

He's not flipping him off. He's just confirming the outcome of the race. "Your number one & I'm number two!"
