Iowa men’s basketball coach Fran McCaffery lost his head Sunday, erupting in a midcourt rant during the team’s loss to Wisconsin. What began with the Hawkeyes losing an early lead ended with their coach bumping a Big Ten referee and earning an ejection.

While McCaffery apologized for the incident on Monday, the Big Ten fined him $10,000 and suspended him for the Hawkeyes’ Thursday game against Northwestern.

The timing of the conference’s discipline comes with a twist: Thursday is also Fran McCaffery Bobblehead Night at Iowa’s Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

But hey — it could be much worse. Stephen Curry missed his bobblehead night with a concussion, while Marlon Byrd was traded hours before Marlon Byrd T-shirt night.

False. Bobblehead night moved to January 19th. Quit writing shitty stories bro.

Ref probably did him a favor by kicking him out, he was on the verge of a collapsing of a heart attack.

Wouldn't really call that a bump.  Looks like the ref turned into him.  No harm, no foul.
