A Seahawks Defender Got a Dinner Reservation by Imitating Russell Wilson

New Orleans Saints v Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are 11-1, outscoring opponents a combined 108-37 in their last three games. They should be the kings of Seattle right now. And while that’s true of quarterback Russell Wilson at least, the white glove treatment apparently does not extend to the rest of the team.

Defensive end Michael Bennett — who scored a touchdown in this past Monday’s rout of New Orleans — was shut down for table reservations. Undeterred, however, Bennett had an ace up his sleeve. As he described to Seattle’s 710 ESPN, he called back later and told the establishment he was Russell Wilson:

“And she was like, ‘Yes! We can make a table for you! You were 22 for 30 the other night, 130 quarterback rating!’ She knew every stat.” [...]

“And then I got to the restaurant – it was me and my wife and my kids – I said, ‘Oh, thank you. I’m Russell Wilson.’ And then she took me to the table. They had it roped off, they had sparkling water, everything.

Bennett acknowledges that he was still treated graciously when the staff realized they’d been had.

Doubt that stunt would fly at Dorsia, though.
