A Bears-fan husband and his Packers-fan wife placed a bet regarding last night’s Monday Night Football game involving stakes far greater than money: the winner got to use a taser on the loser.

After the Bears pulled out the closely fought battle, however, and John Grant claimed his prize of sending a few thousand volts through his beloved, his wife called the police.  According to the Beaver Dam (Wisc.) Daily Citizen, police responded to a local bowling alley (because where else would someone taser their spouse for fun) and arrested the man:

The wife said that while the two were smoking cigarettes outside of Sidelines, Grant had used the stun gun twice on her butt and once on her thigh. Grant said that the two had made a bet on the game as she is a Packers fan and he a Bears fan that if the Packers lost, she would be shocked with the stun gun.

Police did confirm that the woman consented to the bet, but the husband was still arrested and could face up to six years in prison for use of an electric weapon. At least the Bears won, right?

i would have arrested them both and made them watch each team beat the other for 8 hours straight.

That is unquestionably the most awe-inspiring story I will see this week.  At least this week.

From what I read of the article, I would assume the bet was for one tase and she got 3. The police were smart to have gone to a bowling alley. That would have been my second choice after the trailer park

They were doing more than smoking cigarettes.  I have a feeling that there were plenty of libations consumed as well.

Well, it isn't up to the husband and wife anymore.  Regardless of how pissed the wife might have been, I doubt she would want him to be in prison for six years instead of working and providing for the family (or getting a welfare check or food stamps, but I think that, thanks to the dems, you can still collect while you're in jail.  Well, maybe not.  Walker has cleaned out a lot of the waste).

Maybe Martin should have used one on the redneck in Miami

Her complaint stated she was "bullied" by her husband!

Police out of control, as usual.  No surprise there.  We're slowly but surely becoming a Dictatorship...thanks Liberals.  You've done SO much for our country.

@Samuel3 There is always one person who injects politics into a clearly non-political news story. You sure are swell!

@RomarioDelLago I'm afraid it's Bush that created the Communist, military, Republican police state that we all enjoy now.  Don't you understand?  Bush used 9/11 as an excuse to create a police state.

@RomarioDelLago It's cute how you're insecure. It's even cuter how you imply liberalism is tied with facism

It's even funnier that either of you think this has anything to do with liberals and fascists. Clearly these two are pond scum agreeing to taser bets outside a bowling ally on Monday night while puffing a port.
