After Just One Big Tackle, the NFL Is Testing Colts Punter Pat McAfee for Steroids

Colts punter Pat McAfee tweeted the above notice of an impending random PED test, which comes suspiciously just a day after he destroyed Trindon Holliday in his first tackle of the season.

Tweeting the hashtag #UpperBodyOfAnAdolescent, it’s obvious McAfee thinks he’ll pass, which will only make it funnier if he fails for using the wrong cough medicine.

Pat McAfee would be a fun guy to party with... Just don't let him get too drunk or he'll strip naked and take a swim in the canal!

A real bunch of geniuses that don't know what happens when a 240 pound punter runs into a 170 pound running back...DUH!

Test the Seahawks team as a whole if you want proof. So what if a punter makes an amazing play. Can't he and the team be proud of his play without the NFL suspecting him of having drugs? This is a bunch of Bull. The commish can suck it. He shouldn't be the commish because he is tearing apart the game of football. I know that there should be drug tests. But just for 1 player? A punter? Why not players like Richard Sherman? The NFL knows he uses drugs and they don't do anything about it.

Bunch of idiots, test Clay Matthews if you want a positive test.

Giants need to sign him, then they will have at least one guy on special teams who likes to hit.

Seems the NFL didn't like a mere punter taking away an "exciting" TD return on national TV. Let this be a warning to all punters (and kickers). The NFL does not like you thinking you are real players. Go back to being mannequins on kick coverage or else!

Nice - another 'idiot kicker' who thinks he's actually a football player. Must have fulfilled a big fantasy, lowering your helmet to hit a 5'6", 150 lb midget's helmet 2 inches from the sideline when a simple push would have done it., Just one of the many 'homer' non-calls that turned the tide for the home team. They should test the whole team. Can't wait to see them in Denver in January - if they actually make it that far...

Kickers should be given an exemption for steroids

It's F'ing football, let em play. I used to hit like a truck at 150

He crushed a midget...  so what?!...   Any guy on the planet would have destroyed that tiny donkey...   LMAO

It's only a urine test, or as DeMaurice Smith might say, 'No biggie.'

And for an 8 billion-a-year (?) business, the form of notice leaves something to be desired.  Looks like a locker-room prank.

Great tackle and all but throw a flag you dumb ref ... the play was RIGHT in front of you. Hold every player to the same standard.

My Bears might need to trade for this guy and put him on their depleted defense.

Wait. You mean...he actually TACKLED a guy???? in football? How the devil dare he? We can have any more of that!

Fat chance!

That is purely McAfee being a clown!

You know that's playing on a non-stop loop at McAfee's house.

I do believe this is a prank - isn't it? You know - punter takes out returner  - he must be on drugs ha! ha!

Test because of a sideline hit? Really? Seems made up BS to me.

What I'd like to know is why there was no flag for the helmet to helmet contact?

AaronThigpen

Any hit is a huge hit on a guy that is 5'6" 170. So sensationalized.

The powers that be in the league office must've concluded that only a roided-up punter could have the cojones to take out a runner like that.....too funny

The notice doesn't even look real.  A joke by his teammates perhaps?

That is not a tackle, it is a knock-down.

Helmet to Helmet, should be fined. HAHAHAHA

So if you're a punter you automatically don't have any body mass or balls;SMH.

Funny coming from a league that does not test for HGH. He must have taken wrong PEDs

Dr. Spadafora from NFL substance of abuse program must be behind this. The NFL only hires the best...not...

So a guy that is 6'1" 233 destroys a returner that is 5'5" 170, gets a request for a piss test for performance enhancers.  What a joke.  He outweighs the guy by 60 pounds for crying out loud..

the returner may be a lightweight, but still great to see Kickers kick some butt.  So unexpected.

@Joebuckster you're another idiot who obviously doesn't know what it is to play football.  Oh wait, I guess playing Madden gives you some sort of "cred".  whether punter, kicker, or a DB, you live for a shot to hit someone like that.  By the way, your Broncos got their collective asses physically beaten Sunday night.  If it wasn't for your PI call late in the 2nd half, the Colts would have totally dismantled your team.  that score wasn't indicative of the beat down your team received.  You can thank Peyton for making the score reasonable.

SuperDave
SuperDave

What a stupid comment. Do you think these guys, especially inexperienced one, can determine at that speed that a simple push would do the trick? Come on man! This kicker did a stellar job of making sure this did not turn into a TD.

deohitner
deohitner

@Joebuckster .... wow you are something else.... complaining about a punter sending your "star" through the air. cry me a river. you're the reason that the nfl is making all these stupid  rules to take away hits.. its people like you that ruin the game of football.

danboz11
danboz11

@Joebuckster Look at this sour grapes.  From someone who has no interest in this game, get a clue.  It wasn't because of "homer" calls that you lost, it was because they handled you.

TheBalls1
TheBalls1

@MichaelC Um... Flag for what?  He wasn't out of bounds.  And he sure wasn't defenseless.

TheBalls1
TheBalls1

@VerneGlassman He wasn't defenseless and the tackler happened to hit helmets, he obviously did not do it on purpose.  He did not spear him.

caleb
caleb

@Silverdeer It's a joke. He isn't being tested because of the hit, just a random test.

Bucky182
Bucky182

@broncomilitia If I read his article, which you linked, correctly than it would seem that he is out of the substance abuse program and it obviously had nothing to do with PEDs. He got hammed and decided to go for a midnight swim.

@SuperDave You have to excuse this idiot's comment, he's just a dead-beat sitting around knitting a sweater and wishing he could play pro football.  :)

humphitner

@Joebuckster Joebuckster - You panzy. This is straight up football. This is why we watch football, for these moments. It was a perfect textbook play. You prolly never played football in your life, if you did you were waterboy c team. Get some balls.

Hendo

@TheBalls1 He definitely led with his helmet.

KeysSteven

@Hendo I don't think so.  Watch it again and notice how Holliday (DEN) lowers & aims / turns his head-gear first.  At very least it was simultaneous.  Ref might've thought it was all incidental contact?
