I Can’t Stop Listening to Rick Pitino Getting Hung Up On

New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics

I’m normally loathe to listen to even the shortest snippets of sports talk radio. Witless takes from perspectiveless fans, fielded by failed comics with a bank of sound effects, is a kind of hell. But every once in awhile you come across a piece so simple and inspired it must be heard. Over and over again.

Such is the case with this clip from Boston area knuckleheads Toucher and Rich. Rick Pitino calls in to ostensibly discuss his new book. People in Boston still don’t like Rick Pitino.

Here’s the full transcript, but you must listen.

Fred Toucher: We are joined by Rick Pitino, former coach of the Celtics, current coach of the Louisville Cardinals who won the national championship. Rick Pitino, hello!

Pitino: Morning, guys.

Fred: You stink. You ruined the Celtics

Click. End of call. Play it again as much as you like. I’m up to half a dozen.

Larry Bird is not walking through that door...

cheap shot by radio hacks...

Rick was terrible during his time with the Celtics, but he was a very good player at UMass, and has proven to be an elite college coach.
