This Is One Of The Most Pathetic Things We’ve Ever Seen

A couple of weeks ago, we told you that Mets third baseman David Wright was named the “MLB’s Hottest Cub” by the website The Mets, in their quest to get Wright voted to the NL All-Star team FOR A GAME THAT DOESN’T COUNT, IS NOT REAL, IS AN EXHIBITION, AND IS MEANINGLESS, reportedly reached out to Cougar Life to get their users to stuff the ballot box for Wright.

We’re Not Picking On The Mets…

But this is the funniest thing you will see today.

You will not believe what happened to one Blackhawks fan who DVR’d last night’s game.

I'm not sure that Blackhawks link is real.  Seems a bit fake to me on a couple of fronts: 1) the timing of when the DVR stopped, and 2) the fact that if taped for an extra two hours, it should be well within the time of the game. 2 OTs + intermission = 80 minutes.  Add another 10 minutes of the 3rd OT = 90 min.  30 minutes of window left from the regular game + 2 hours.  The facts of 2 and the coincidence of 1 makes me believe someone is looking for the glimmer of notoriety.

I don't think the Mets criticism is entirely fair. Yes, a staffer did do that. But to their credit, the plan was vetoed by upper management, and you should mention this in your snippet above.
